About Dr. Budoff
Dr. Budoff is a board certified Orthopedic Hand & Upper extremity surgeon who has written and published 47 articles in leading medical journals and has authored 23 textbook chapters. In addition, he has edited seven textbooks on the treatment of disorders of the upper extremity (hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder), and was the shoulder section editor of an 8th textbook. He served on national committees and frequently lectured at national meetings. He served as an Associate Master Instructor of shoulder arthroscopy for a national organization and taught other practicing orthopedic surgeons the most up-to-date techniques of arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He was a Leadership Fellow for both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery and a Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, two of the most prestigious orthopaedic journals, where he helped other surgeons prepare their manuscripts for publication.
Dr. Budoff specializes in open and arthroscopic surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. He is an expert in endoscopic carpal tunnel release, endoscopic cubital tunnel release, hand and wrist pain, sports injuries, fractures, dislocations, arthritis, tennis elbow, shoulder instability, rotator cuff injuries, and labral repairs.
Dr. Budoff’s focus is on restoring function and eliminating pain with the newest, least invasive, most up-to-date methods possible. He is often referred complicated upper extremity cases from other orthopaedic surgeons. Dr. Budoff does all of his own surgeries. His one-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release is the least invasive technique currently available. Independent research has confirmed that the one-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release gets most people back to work (and other worthwhile activities) quicker than open carpal tunnel release or the two-incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release that many surgeons advertise.
Dr. Budoff currently sees patients in the Texas Medical Center and has satellite offices in Clear Lake, Pearland and Katy, Texas. His professional affiliations include The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American Society for Surgery of the Hand, The Texas Orthopedic Association and The Harris County Medical Society.
